Classification and main differences of steel pipes in API standards for steel pipes for oil and gas transportation
According to API SPEC 5L, steel pipes are divided into PLSL and PLS2 product grades, and different technical conditions are specified for these two types of products. The main difference is that the strength requirements for carbon equivalent, fracture toughness, maximum yield strength and maximum tensile strength are specified relative to PLS1 and PLS2.
